Last Updated: Mar 29, 2025
Filo Technologies Inc. ("Filo," "we," "us," or "our") provides a social platform that helps users find and host events, discover venues, and connect with others who share their interests. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our app, website, or related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have questions or comments after reading, please reach out using the contact details provided at the end of this document.
1. Scope & Purpose
1.1 Who This Applies To
This Privacy Notice applies to individuals who visit our website(s), download or use our mobile application, or otherwise interact with Filo. If you're using our Services on behalf of a company or other entity, you're also agreeing on behalf of that organization.
1.2 Our Commitment
We want you to feel secure about sharing information with us. We aim to be open and honest about our data handling so you can make informed decisions about what you share.
1.3 Incorporation into Other Agreements
This Notice is part of our broader Terms of Use, which govern how you use Filo. In case of any conflict between this Notice and other terms, the terms most protective of user privacy take precedence (unless otherwise stated).
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily
- Account Details: We collect your name, email address, phone number, username, and profile photo (optional). If you sign in using a third-party service, we may also receive your social media handle. Additional information like age or interests may be collected for certain features.
- Event & Venue Information: If you host events or manage a venue, we collect the event name, date, time, location, description, and other related details. We also store RSVP lists, attendee check-ins, and any notes or images you upload.
- Communications & Messages: When you contact our support team or send messages to other users, we may store the content to help troubleshoot issues and maintain your communication history.
- Payment Information: If you use paid features, you may provide billing details or transaction info. We typically receive limited data (e.g., transaction amount, date, status) through our secure payment processor—not your full card number.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: If you enable location services, we collect approximate or exact real-time location data. This helps us suggest nearby events, surface relevant venues, or show your proximity to others—if you choose to share it. You can disable location services in your device settings at any time.
- Device & Usage Info: We gather information such as IP address, device identifiers, operating system, app version, and system language. We also track in-app activity like which screens you visit or buttons you tap, to improve performance and user experience.
- Cookies & Tracking: We use cookies, beacons, and similar tools to remember your settings, analyze traffic, and serve relevant content. These may be managed in your browser or device settings, although disabling them might affect certain features.
2.3 Data from Third Parties
- Social Networks: If you connect a social media account (e.g., Facebook, Instagram), we may access permitted profile information such as your name and friend list to help personalize your experience. You can revoke these permissions at any time via your social media settings.
- Service Providers: Our analytics and marketing partners may provide us with aggregate or anonymized data about user behavior, technical performance, or campaign effectiveness.
